Your wedding day is going to be full of love, laughter, and unforgettable moments. I want to make sure your photography experience is smooth, fun, and stress-free so you can focus on enjoying every second. Here’s a little guide to help things run seamlessly:

For both Bride and Groom

Tidy Spaces, Happy Faces: When I arrive, having your rooms ready for photos makes a huge difference. Beds made, suitcases and laundry tucked away, food carts and trash out of sight—it helps create a polished backdrop so all the focus is on you.

Write a Love Note: Take a moment to write a heartfelt letter to your partner. It’s such a sweet keepsake, and I’ll be happy to deliver it for a memorable photo op.

Set the Mood: Play your favorite music in the background to create a relaxed and fun atmosphere. Please avoid having the television on—it can be distracting, show up in your photos, and give off poor lighting, especially if someone is standing near it. However, if there’s a special game or event on that’s important to you, a great photo of everyone gathered around watching it can become a memorable part of your day. Just as a general rule, though, it’s best to keep the TV off unless it’s something truly meaningful to you.

Family Portraits: If you have specific family photo combinations in mind, feel free to send me a list. For example:

• Bride + Mom

• Bride + Mom + Groom

• Bride + Mom + Dad + Groom (etc)

That said, a list isn’t mandatory! If you’d rather leave it to me, I’ve got a tried-and-true set of groupings I’ll work through quickly and efficiently. I’m easily prepared for any impromptu groupings anyone wants to jump in on. To give you an idea, 20 combinations typically take about 35 minutes if everyone is ready. For larger groups (8+), chairs can be helpful.

For the Bride:

Details, Details: Gather your wedding rings, shoes, jewelry, veil, dress, invitation, guest hotel gift bags, and any other special items together. Having everything in one spot makes it easy for me to capture those beautiful detail shots.

Hair & Makeup Tips: Let your glam squad know that a director’s chair or similar tall chair is ideal. Natural light (like facing a window) makes for the best lighting for these moments.

Picture-Ready Prep: Have a simple top (like a spaghetti strap or lace camisole) ready for portraits before you slip into your dress.

For the Groom:

Family Helper: Designate someone from each side of the family who can help direct relatives to the right place at the right time for pictures. This helps things move along smoothly.

Make It Fun: If you’re planning cigars, drinks, or board games with your groomsmen, those moments make for great candid photos.

Bow Tie Skills: If you’re wearing a traditional bow tie, practice tying it ahead of time or have someone nearby who knows how to tie one.

Gather Your Details: Have your tie, shoes, jewelry, jacket, and any other special items gathered in one spot so when I arrive we can capture all the little things that make your look unique.

With a little preparation, we’ll create memories you’ll treasure forever. I can’t wait to be part of your big day and to capture every laugh, tear, and joyful moment. If you have any questions or special requests, just let me know—I’m here to help!
